Heather Byars - The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
1. Lina is the main character of the book. She is like me in that she cares for her family a lot, and is very inquisitive. She is not like me because she is much more daring than I would probably be.
2. I thnk that Doon changed the most from the beginning to the end. At first he only wanted to fix the pipeworks and not get involved in Lina'a activities, but in the end he is committed to helpin her solve the mystery.
3. Not really. It is a pretty unbeleviable story. I have not lived in a city that is only lit by light bulbs and not the sun, but I have made friends with someone that at first i did not think I would be friends with.
4. Where will they go now, and what will happen to everyone else? That is the question I want answered. Thank goodness there is a sequel that will tell me what happens. It is called The People of Sparks.
5. I loved this book, it is probably one of my favorites. The characters are interesting, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat.
Jennifer Yu - Dr. Franklin's Island by Ann Hamar
1. Semi and Miranda are the main characters in this book. Semi is like me because she never gives up faith in her friend, Miranda after she turns into a bird. She is also a bit different because she is in high school. Miranda is also like me because she finds ways to get things done even when she has been turned into a bird.
2. I think that Semi changed the most because at the beginning. At the beginning she really didn't trust a lot of people, but after meeting Miranda and Skinner, a wacky scientist's assistant, she begins to trust people a bit more.
3. No, nothing that happened in this story has ever happened to me because there isn't a injection in the world that can change me into an animal.
4. One question that is not answered is if Skinner and the other scientists continued Dr. Franklin's work after he died.
5. I think that Dr. Franklin's Island is a very good book because it has mystery, tragedy, friendship, and betrayal all into one magnificent novel. Dr. Franklin's Island is simply enchante.
Chris Williams-I, Dred Scott by Shelia P. Moses
1. Dred Scott is the main character in this book, and how we are alike is we are both African- American, and how we are different is he was born a slave, he didn't know who is parents were, and he didn't go to school.
2. Dred Scott, because he was a slave in the beginning of the book and at the end he got his freedom.
3. No, I have never been beaten, I've never been to court, and I've never been married.
4. What job did he get, what happened to him and his family, did he live a happy live?
5. It was a very good book, it taught you never to give up what is yours (his freedom). I think if you read it you would like it.
Jackson O'Brien- Irish red by Jim Kjelgaard
The main character of this book is Danny pickett. Danny is like me because he likes to hunt and fish and spend tme in the outdoors. He is different from me becaus eI go to school and live in Atlanta, he lives in winitapi and doesn't go to school.
The dog, Mike. when he was born he was know good at anything except for getting in trouble. Now he is a loving companion and saves danny's life more then once.
yes alot of things have happened to me. I have worked with both english and irish setters and have shoten birds behind them like danny and his father Ross did.
The one question that was left unanswered was what happened to thpups. They said they were tgoing to sell them but they didn't and they didn't give them away.
I thought this was a great book and anyone who likes dogs and to hunt and fish should read this book.
Tinsley Flint-The Book of 100 Truths by Julie Schumacher
The main charcter is Thea and she is like me because she gets annoyed easily and she can get homesick easily too. She isn't like me though because she hates to SWIM and she lives her whole life telling lies. Thea was the charcter that I thought changed the most from the beginning to the end because her mom gave her a notebook, but it wasn't just any notebook it was a book of 100 truths. That is where she wrote down everything that is true over her vacation at her grandma and granpas house. While she was at her granparents house she learned how to tell the truth by writing in that notebook. Her only problem that summer is her whole mom's side of the family was there except her mom, which ment Josalyn (her cousin) would be annoying her all summer. 1 thing that has happend to me like her is we have both been annoyed by people that look up to us. None of my questions were unanswered at the end of the book! I liked this book because it made you want to keep reading. Thea had something about her in the book that made you bored tough...she was always in a bad mood. I recomend this book.
Ian Ralston- The Submarine Pitch by: Matt Christopher
1. The main charecter is Bernie Shantz.... He is like me because he loves baseball and he knows a lot about it, and he is also a pitcher.
2. Bernie because he learned that no matter what happens you should go for your dreams and never give up.
3. I thought about giving up baseball once because I was in a slump. The difference is he actually quit but then he eventually comes back
4. Does Dave get better from his liver problem? What happens with the rest of the Rangers season?
5. This book is entertaining because you never know what is going to happen next. If you like baseball, boys or girls, you would enjoy this book.
Avery Eliot: I Was a Non- Blonde Cheerleader By:Kieran Scott
1.Annisa Gobrowski is the main character and she is like me because she has a lot of adittude and is very clumsy and she is different from me because I am not a cheerleader.(I don't count on it either.)
2.Pheobe changed the most because in he beginning she wasn't comfortable with any of the girls and she was really mean to Annisa. But about half-way into the book she was really nice to Annisa and opened up to her about her problems.
3.Annisa was bullied a bit throughout the story and that has definitely happened to me.
4.why did her brother come back home and not go back to college? and How did the other school find out about the prank war the night they did it?
5. This book was great. It taught me a lesson of how to work on a team and it taught me how not to act when you don't fit in. I don't suggest this book to boys though. This book is 100% chick-flick.
Justin Lewis – Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica
1. Molly is the main character of the book. She is like me because she is twelve years old and friendly, has one really close friend, and never gives up when she really wants something. Molly is not like me because she is a girl, her mother is deceased, and she lives in Boston.
2. I believe Josh Cameron changed the most. At first, he was very selfish and only cared about basketball and his image. He didn’t want to claim Molly as his daughter, or have anything to do with her. By the end of the story, Josh believed Molly was his daughter, treated her as his family, and made her feel special.
3. The only thing from the story that happened to me is that I once visited a professional sports team’s locker room just like Molly. I visited the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars’ locker room, and in the story Molly visited the NBA’s Boston Celtics’ locker room.
4. The book doesn’t answer the question if Josh’s mean agent, Bobby, accepts Molly, or if Barbara, Molly’s mother’s best friend ends up liking Josh. I also would have liked to know if Molly and her best friend Sam Bloom ever get to see each other again.
5. This was a very good book. It combined sports and the importance of having someone to call family. If you like sports, you’ll love the book; if you like stories with happy endings, you will love this book. This book was sad, funny, and had plenty of basketball action.
David Elrod- Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
1-Greg is pretty much like me but he is alot more wimpy than me but he really cares what other people think more than I do
2-Greg did but he didn't change a hole lot he just went from elementary to Junior High

Peyton C. - Red Badge of Courage
1-Henry is like me because I have been forced to do something I didn't want to do (Want to play but parents say I have to do HW). We are different because he wants to stay at home but he at his young age chooses to go to WAR!!!! He felt that he should go because it would be the right thing to do.
2-I would have to say Henry because at first he was nervouse about having to go to war, but then he kept getting more confedence in himself that he could make it through.
3-I had to either choose to go to my really good friends b-day party, or go to a new kids house that really didn't have any friends and I thought the right thing to do was go to the kid who didn't really have any friends and I did, and at the beggining I was really bourd and I just wanted to call my dad to come get me, but then before I new it, it wasn't all that bad I was just making my self not want to stay because I kept saying to myself I wasn't going to have a good time. (Henry wanted to run away from the war)
4-Did he go back home??? It doesn't say.
5-This book was really good because I like comics and it was a comic. I also like war books and it was a very very very good war book. I also liked the way the wording was. It really helps you get into the story, and the wording was funny. I would recommend this book to ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ann Puntkattalee- The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau
1- Lina is the main character in this book. She is like me because she cares about her community and her family. She is also much more daring than I am.
2- Torren changed the most because at the beginning he was really mean and by the end he was more nice and caring than he was at the beginning. He cared more about people in his life.
3-Not really. This book is pretty unbeliaviable. I haven't lived underground and find my way out into a new city.
4- There were no unanswered questions at the end of this book because it is a sequal to The City of Ember.
5- I thought this book was very intresting. It kept me on the edge of my seat! I also liked the book The City of Ember but this book just tied it all together! This book is one of the best books I have ever read!
Jessie T.- I'd tell you I love You but then I'd have to kill you. By: Ally Carter
1)The main charictor in the book is named Cammie and she is very different than me because she is a girl in spy school and she leads a secret life that only a few of her friends know about. But, she is similar to me because she is an only child.
2) I think that Macey changed the most because at first she was a rich girl who was stuck up and snoty, to one of Cammie best friends with a lot of advice.
3) No nothing in this book has ever happend to methat is straight forward. But maybe I have been asked to give a tour that is almost impossible.
4) There were no questions unanswered accept what next semester will be like.
5) I LOVED this book because it was very interisting and you ever knew what was going to happen!
Christina- Wizards of the Game By David Lubar
1) The Main Character is Murcer. He is like me because we are both in middle school. We are different because he likes witch craft and I hate it.
2) I think Ed changed the most because he went from beiong a nerd to being normal.
3) Yes, I have done a fun raiser (car wash) just like the characters.
4) No unanswered questions.
5) It was Okay, but I think it would have been better for a boy to read.
Adelaide- 20,000 Leages Under the Sea By Jules Verne
1) The main character is Professor Aronnax. He is like me because we are both very bold and brave. But he is different from me because he knows pretty much everything you can know about the sea. I don't know everything you can know, but I'm still learning.
2) I think that
Jessica Leistikow- Perfect By Natasha Friend
1) The main character is Isabelle Lee. We both are in middle school and I understand how she feels about certain people being "perfect." Even if they look good on the outside, on the inside they really might not be such a good person. We are different because her dad died. We are also different because Isabelle is anerexic, and I'm not. I don't think that solves any problems, it just makes things worse.
2) I think Isabelle changed the most because she started being nicer to her sister, April, and she stopped throwing up all the time. She also learned to talk about her dad with other people. That is a big accomplishment for her.
3) Yes, I've been asked to sit with someone that I just met, and didn't feel comfortable around their friends. That is sort of like when Isabelle was asked to sit with Ashley and her friends were making Isabelle feel uncomfortable. I've also had to chose between two groups of friends and decide who I wanted to hang out with, Isabelle also experienced that kind of problem.
4) What was the gift that Ashley gave Isabelle for Christmas? Did Isabelle's mom ever learn to talk about their dad without crying?
5) It was a great book! It deserves a thumbs up. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but overall it was an awesome book.
