Heather Byars - The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau

 

1.  Lina is the main character of the book.  She is like me in that she cares for her family a lot, and is very inquisitive.  She is not like me because she is much more daring than I would probably be.

2.  I thnk that Doon changed the most from the beginning to the end.  At first he only wanted to fix the pipeworks and not get involved in Lina'a activities, but in the end he is committed to helping her solve the mystery.

3.  Not really.  It is a pretty unbeleviable story.  I have not lived in a city that is only lit by light bulbs and not the sun, but I have made friends with someone that at first i did not think I would be friends with.

4.  Where will they go now, and what will happen to everyone else?  That is the question I want answered.  Thank goodness there is a sequel that will tell me what happens.  It is called The People of Sparks.

5.  I loved this book, it is probably one of my favorites.  The characters are interesting, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. 

 

 

 Bermuda-The Poeple of Sparks by Jeanne Duprau

 

1.Lina is the main character of the book. She is alike to me because i like expoloring around. She is not alike to me because I would never go out to explore a new city.

2.I say Doon because now that he is in a new city he is seperated from Lina and now hangs out with the other boys.

3.No. Because this is still a lot different then we are living though the stuff that happening has never happened to me. It's still like Ember except the city is not dying and the sky is not black and no blackouts are happining.

4.Yes what happened to the book that the found in The City of Ember. I need to read The Profit of Youngwood so that i can understand what happened before The City of Ember.

5.I fairly enjoyied the book with the sequals kept me reading and I find it really interesting.

 

 

 

Jackett- Heart Of A Champion

 

1. Seth is the main character of the book. He and I are alike because we both love baseball. But are diffrences are im more out spoken and hes a quiet person.

2.Seth changed very much. At the beginning he wasnt very good at baseball but then he meets boy named Jimmy. Towards the end he makes his high base ball team and he is great.

3. Yes ive been pressured to bad stuff like on the internet or something.

4. Does Seth ever go to the major leagues?

5. This book is great.Its all baseball it teaches you about the decisions you make.

 

Ian-Water Wishes

1. There really is no "Main character", but if you want me to name a main character, Polly.

2. Joe, since he's actually not trying to be "cool" for once.

3. Uhmmmmmmm... no.

4. How they continue to live?

5. It was a bit easy to read, and I really wish all four of the series were strung together so it could be a better/longer read.

 

Brady-Tennis Ace

1. The Main Character is Steve. He is alike me because    he plays tennes and so do i but he aslo wants to play with his friends like me. He is defferent from me because he has a dad that wants him to play 24/7 when my dad wants me to spend more time with him.

2. The character that i thinked changed the most was Steve's dad. I think he changed the most cause of how he was trying to live through his son by playing tennis,because he would of, but he got injured in college. And now he realizes his son didnt love the game like he did but his daughter did but he was too busy puting pressure on his son not to notice his daughter.

3. Yes but it isnt my parents fault.

4. Did Steve became a profesional? or did he ever go to the summer camp his father wanted him to go to? Did his sister become a Pro????

5. I thought it was a great book because since i lay tennis i got a few tips too. I also thought that the book is true i  know that this is happening in real life but cause it was happening to me.      

 

 

 

Nick-Harry Potter and the dethly hallows

1. The main character is harry. I like him because he is smart and he likes to solve mysteries like me but he is different because I could not kill some one

2. Definatly Malfoy. He was mean at the begining and was nice at the end.

5. It was a great book and I would recomend it to any one. The is the first book I have read that I could not put down.

Yacob- A Week in the Woods

1. The main charachter is Mark Chelmsley. Mark is like me in a way that he likes things to stay the same such as where he lives. He is differinte from me because he can be snobbish. He also at the beginning of the story does not appriceate the outdoors.

2. It has really been a toss-up beetween Mark and Mr. Maxwell. Mark changed from only liking to stay in his comfort zone to branching out to try something new. Mr. Maxwell has learned to appricated other peoples differences. He also starts to like Mark unlike at the beginning of the story.

3. No not really.

4. The book really doesnt leave me with any questions, they did a good job of that.

5. I think this is a great book for people whom really like adventure pact scenes. This book is really hard to get lost in, and you really get a good vivid picture in your mind of what it must have been like in the woods.

 

Roberto-The Bean Trees

1. The main character is Taylor Greer, I believe that she has something in common with me because we fight for what we believe in.

2.I believe Taylor did change the most because at the beginning she just came out of school but then she bears the responsibility of raising a child. She also becomes  like her friend Lou Ann who worries to a great extent.

3.No, I have not experienced Kentucky life, and I have not been to Tucson before.

4. The question  that was unanswered was"What  happened to Taylor's Father?"

5. This book is a college level book. It is very interesting and it is a book to be remembered. I would recommend this book to those who are interested in stories about friends.

 

Willow-Harry Potterand the Chamber of Secrets

1. The main character is Harry, I think he is similar to me because he is adventerous and brave. I think he is different from me because he could kill someone and I couldn't.

2. I think Harry did. At the beginning of the book he didn't know much about his past and family, but then later he learned a lot.

3. No, I haven't ever been in a magic world and I have never killed a giant serpant.

4. The question that was unanswered was who really killed Harry's parents.

5. I think that the book was great. It was really interesting

 

Picker-The old man and the sea-Ernest Hemingway

 1.The main character is the old man.  He is similar to me because he is allways optimistic.  He is different because he is an old man who is poor and goes fishing everyday.

2.the boy.  In the begining he went with all the rich lucky fishermen.  In the end he just liked fishing with the old man even though he was poor and one time he went 87 days without catching a single fish.

3.Some of the things in this book have happened to me for instance catching a fish, one of the only tings that hasnt happened to me is catching a huge marlin.

4.The question left unanswered was if he got over it and went fishing shortly afterwards.

5.I thought the book was a great book overall.  On a chart one through ten I would give it an eleven.

 

 

Failor-Kidnapped: The Abduction-By: Gordon Korman

1. One of the main characters is Aiden. He is way braver than I could ever be. He was almost shot once by a kidnapper!!!!!

2. This character hasn't really changed from the beggining of the story to the end. He was a fugitive so he was brave through the story.

3. This story has a lot of action in it and I haven't really had alot of action in my life.

4.Does Meg get rescued or is she killed by the kidnappers?

5. My overall thoughts of this book was that this was a very good book. I love action and mysteries. This book has both action and mystery. If you like action and mystery this book is right for you.

 

 

 

 Alex-Chasing Vermeer By: Blue Balliet

1. The main characters is Calder and Petra they would do alot more than I would do if something was stolen

2. Petra, she had no friends and never did anything unsafe then she became more active when she met Calder.

3. Not really I don't go looking for stolen paintings.

4. Was a Lady Writing ever damaged?

5. In the beginning of the book it was pretty boring but later in the book it got alot better. 

 

Farrell-The Prophet of Yonwood

1. The Main Character is Nickie and She is similar to me through courage. She is different in alot of ways.

2. Nickie because she grew in religous spirit and bravery.

3. No, not really.

4. What becomes of Nickie in the new undergroud city( The City of Ember).

5. Its a good book, awesome storyline. Perfect for fans of the Series of Ember.

 1)the main charachters are Calder an Petra they both like art and I don't

 2)Calder changed because at the beggining of the story he didn't like petra and at the end he did

 3)Yes, I have been locked in a basement.

 5)I think It was a really good mystery book

 

 

Mitchell Shea -Coin Collecing

1The thing that me want to read the book the most is the fact that I'm a coin collector.

2Well there are many rare coins out there but to good ones are the 1912 weat penny and the 1988 walking liberty.

3 Yes the arthor gave very good atvice on how to make shur you don't geat rip of.

4 Well you have to start of with some type of coin and you have to find more and work your way up. You must make sure that you pollish them and put them in a place where they wont rust or get dirty.

5 Probley my 1999-2004 walking librty set.

 

 

John-Esacping the giant wave

 

 the main character is Kyle and he is older than me grade wise

 

The bully that bullies kyle  he gets nicer to  him for things that he did

 

In this book there is a tsnami and that is a big wave i have been hit with a big wave and almost killed thankfully i wasnt

 

What heppens to all the people in the city that got " taken out"

 

It was a very  exciting book and full of cliff hangers i highly recomend it
