Surviving in Junior High
“What is CJ doing tomorrow after school?” asked Rebecca. I don’t know, but who cares anyway?” Nicole answered. Rebecca and Nicole have been best friends since the sixth grade when she was new. “Why do you like my brother so much?” questioned Nicole. “I don’t know!” said Rebecca as she giggled.
“Do you remember when Zeek beat up CJ and broke his leg and also persecuted me?” asked Rebecca. “It must have hurt a lot.” She sat on the couch while she sipped her warm cider. “Aren’t you glad that Zeek has gone into the 9th grade? Maybe he will finally get some councling help. HE IS PERIL!” Nicole mentioned. “I remember those times…”
ONE YEAR EARLIER…
“MOM!!! I don’t want to go to school dressed like this!! Everyone will laugh at me!” griped Rebecca. “Oh honey, You look adorable!” her mom told her. As Rebecca glanced at the clock, she gasped. “I’m going to be late! Mom! LETS GO!!!” She grabbed her backpack, said goodbye and dashed out the door. She skidded to a stop as the bus pulled up. “You’re right on time.” The bus driver told as she ineptly climbed up the steps and walked down the isle.
She gasped at the size of the school as the bus driver went to help the little kids. Rebecca did not see the last step, lost her posture and plummeted to the ground. Some kids nearby laughed at her and stampeded inside as the bell rang. Rebecca walked into the office and got her new schedule. When she walked to her locker, a boy detained her from going any further. She knew right away it was Zeek because he was the loftiest in the school. After she finally eluded from his presence, she got to her class. When she went home, she slept perpetually from an exhausting day.
During the rest of the month, Rebecca saw many skirmishes because they tried to prove who was hardiest. Rebecca also made a new friend, Nicole, who had an older brother named CJ. The thing she liked about CJ was that he captivated her, but to Nicole he was aggravating.
One day at school, there was a brawl between CJ and Zeek. Zeek was making fun of Rebecca and CJ was standing up for her. Rebecca and Nicole stood by and watched as CJ knocked Zeek out cold. CJ had attained a victory! The two friends yelled for CJ for beating Zeek. They knew Zeek would leave them alone as they headed down the hall. The competition ended and so did the day.
